NEW PRODUCT
Cyclon puts in the market a new product named AdBlue. AdBlue is used as additive for reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) for truck engines and buses of “generation” EURO IV & V (and in the future EURO VI), which are equipped with system of catalytic treatment of exhaust SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction). AdBlue is sprayed via a suitable system in the exhaust pipe, where it gets mixed with the engine’s exhaust. Due to the high temperatures hydrolyses in ammonia and enters with the exhaust inside the existing catalyst, where it reacts with the oxides of nitrogen and as a result, nitrogen and water are formed. Both components are no toxic, natural components of air. Its consumption is 3-4% (to cover specification of EURO IV) and 5-7% (to cover of EURO V) in relation to the consumption of fuel. It is placed, in separate plastic or stainless reservoir of 40-80 litres capacity next to the fuel tank.
AdBlue is a solution of solid urea (33%) and specially processed water (67%). Final aim is the complete satisfaction of the Standard ISO 22241-1//2006 for the specifications of solution of urea and specially processed water. ISO 22241-1 ensures 2 parameters: the “purity of” product (essential for the output and functional life of SCR) and the content (essential for the effective reduction of (NOx).
AdBlue constitutes a Trademark name of Verband Der Automobilindustrie (VDA), that is to say the German Chamber of Car Manufacturers. It should be marked that all producers of mix of urea- SCR/water -who wish to promote it in the market, under the name “AdBlue”, must meet the conditions of German House “Blue Sky Automotive GmbH” regarding the completion to ISO 22241-1 requirements.
