Using state-of-the-art methods, Cyclon implements Greek and EU law and provides a special unit for collecting concentrates and a biological treatment system, beyond those required by law, to further reduce the impact of its activities on the environment.
Cyclon's own refinery in Aspropyrgos re-refines and regenerates 38,000 metric tonnes of used oil annually, freeing the Greek environment from the equivalent harmful toxic burden.
The technology used by the Cyclon refinery, built according to the latest standards and to technology of KTI Netherlands and the Institut Francais du Petrol (IFP), guarantees the production of quality basic lubricants completely in accordance with international standards. Systematic interventions at the facilities have resulted in the almost complete elimination of industrial waste.
In addition, as the company's main concern is to minimize the use of natural resources and to fully recycle treated liquid waste as much as possible, Cyclon invests in implementing new technologies to treat liquid wastes (ultra filtration membranes, use of advanced oxidation methods, etc.).
Leading the way ahead of other similar production facilities, Cyclon implements pioneering methods such as:
- digital monitoring of the refinery's proper function;
- catalytic hydrogenation, as opposed to other methods used in oil refining, which prevents the creation of toxic wastes;
- standardized management of waste in pilot programmes;
- recycling of industrial water, yet another innovation by CYCLON HELLAS.
In addition, with the creation of subsidiaries ELTEPE and KEPED and their promotion as the most reliable and integrated systems of alternative lubricant oil waste management and empty packaging in Greece, Cyclon proves in practice its interest in the environment and the natural wealth of Greece.
